Mrs. Weeks' Grading Policy

Mrs. Weeks’ Grading Policy

Recording Grades

Test grades account for 50% of the students’ grade and daily work/home work will account for 50% of the grade. Only papers with a grade in red ink with a circle around the grade will be recorded in the gradebook.

Late Papers

All papers that are turned in late will have 10 points deducted for each day the paper is late. That includes papers turned in on the due date but not handed in at the correct time. (Ex: backpack left at home and then brought to school) Papers will not be accepted after the third day past due. Due dates are NOT negotiable. Exceptions may be given in extreme circumstances but are subject to teacher discretion. 10 points will be deducted from all papers turned in without a full heading after the third week of school.

Make-Up Work and Corrected Papers

Students who are absent will be given make-up work and tests missed. Make-up work should be completed and returned in a timely manner. I will not remind a student more than once to turn in make-up work. It’s their responsibility. Grades received below the grade of 70 can be corrected (in most cases) for a better grade. That is also the students’ responsibility if they want a better grade. The 2 grades will be averaged for a new grade. Tests and papers below 70 due to lack of heading or lateness will not be eligible for correction.
